Connectique internet
To provide each Bourguignon access to broadband Internet, the Burgundy Regional Council has chosen wireless technology WiMax. The deployment is performed by the provider Net Burgundy.
What is WiMax?
WiMax is a wireless technology for data transmission that allows Internet surfing such as broadband, phone, or to interconnect networks of companies, for good territorial coverage ratio / public investment.
Unlike ADSL, wired or other technology, WiMax uses radio waves. Each station WiMax can cover an area of 3 to 20 kilometers, depending on the terrain and trees, and provide a stable and reliable flow. WiMax can cover remote areas not served by ADSL. However, it requires a verification of eligibility of the home of each applicant.
The project
In 2006, the Regional Council has obtained the license to the WiMax Arcep (Regulatory Authority for electronic communications and postal services).
Altitude Infrastructure The company was selected as the provider in December 2008. Dijon NetBourgogne subsidiary is responsible for building and operating the network as part of a delegation of public service for a period of 10 years. The service will cover the departments of Côte d'Or, Saône-et-Loire and Yonne (Nièvre already have its own WiMax network).
WiMax stations are being deployed by Net Burgundy. The WiMax network will build regional, for 65 of the 122 radio stations on high points already used by television operators (TDF, ANFR) or mobile (water towers, pylons, etc.)..
The network will continue its deployment in 2011 and will be fully operational by the end of the first half.
Save the installation of WiMax NetBourgogne
Under the promotion to launch the network, the region offers the Burgundians who wish to subscribe to access 2011 NetBourgogne of WiMax, to receive a flat fee of € 250 to cover the cost of the first installation.
This support for all subscriptions made between 1st February and 31 December 2011.

Procedure:
Check your eligibility to NetBourgogne (03 71 700 760) or providers.
Choose one of the providers you get the coordinates from NetBourgogne (03 71 700 760), your local city office, or participating in a public meeting .
Once the provider chosen and the subscription form completed and returned, you will receive within one month of the equipment, the list of approved installers and the form of subsidy of the Regional Council of Burgundy.
The installation completed, you just have to return the form with proof of payment to the Regional Council so that the grant will be paid within three months.
Investment
The project represents a total investment of 18.6 M €. This investment is part of a delegation of public service, 32% being covered by the Altitude Group, 50% by the Region and 18% by the European Union.
Operating costs over 10 years shall be borne 100% by the delegate and represent 20 million.
