Wheelchair: developing individual practices

Because the sport must be a right for everyone, the Burgundy Regional Council strongly supports the practice of sport, amateur or professional. In this context, it encourages people with disabilities to grow through sports. In 2010, the Regional Council has spent € 32 065 for reimbursement of disability sport and disability sport licenses.

Burgundy has approximately 1660 licensees Wheelchair 1 and Adaptive sports2 , In 56 clubs. As part of its support for developing individual practices, the Burgundy Regional Council supports these athletes.

Objectives of aid

  • Promote access for persons with physical disabilities or mental health practice organized in clubs and appropriate structures.


Nature of Assistance

  • The Regional Council is funding a portion of the contribution of any person licensed in a club affiliated to the regional committees of Burgundy handisport and adapted sports.
    It also takes care of its membership from all sections "handisport" created in the club for disabled people.
