What is the inventory?

"The General Inventory of Cultural Heritage identifies, examines and promotes the heritage features that are of cultural, historical or scientific. (...). The region and the Corsican regional authorities are responsible under their jurisdiction, the general inventory of cultural heritage (...)» (Article 95 of Law No. 2004-809 of 13 August 2004)

The inventory is a systematic methodology which aims to study all types of assets: rural, urban, industrial, religious, artistic, architectural and urban furniture. The Burgundy region has entrusted the exercise of that power mandatory service assets and inventory management of culture, heritage, sports and Youth.

In addition to the heritage list and thus increase awareness of the artistic riches of the region, the inventory can provide expertise for specific uses:

  • planning documents (PLU, ZPPAUP ...)
  • protected areas (conservation areas, towns and regions of art and history)
  • tourism and regional development
