The regional strategy for economic development
The Act of August 13, 2004 gives regions the coordination of regional economic policy. The regional pattern of economic development agreement is concluded with the State, ended in December 2010. In an economic crisis after, it's now up to the regional strategy for economic development (SRDE) which is being developed with partners for the period 2011-2014.

The regional strategy for economic development will be structured around three core objectives for the economy and Burgundy:
Industrial: Burgundy IS and must Remain year industrial area
The food industry and metal clusters with two key areas are labeled, they are an important driver of regional dynamism
Innovation: developing the model of the knowledge economy driven That We Have Already the Territory
Three tools for innovation in Burgundy:
- A Regional Strategy for Innovation (SRI); reflection carried out with the state by involving all stakeholders in the innovation business, professional bodies, research institutions and higher education, support networks of enterprises (PREMICE, Burgundy Innovation, ITC ...), the structures of technology transfer (Welience), financiers of Innovation (OSEO Innovation Growth Burgundy) and numerous partners recognized for their involvement in the innovation process.
- A Regional Action Plan for Innovation (NRC): Based on the work and recommendations of the IRS, the plan proposes 12 new actions to stimulate and accelerate the development, implementation and realization of innovative projects, from research or business or their interaction. Obviously supporting businesses, by professionals that are the regional support structures, is essential in this system was adopted in June 2009.
- A Space for Regional Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ERIE), seat of a regional science park: the future space near the main campus will host the technology Dijon regional structure, the regional innovation system with an animation and coordination appropriate network of innovation actors and technopolitan sites throughout Burgundy. It will also have surfaces host of start-ups and innovative companies, but also of technology platforms and research projects in public-private partnership with a project like Pharmimage.

The States General of the Export gathered September 30, 2010 all international partners of Burgundy: institutions, consular network, vocational, syndicates and exporters. The approach initiated at that time allowed to publish the PAREX (regional regional action export) 2011-2014 which aims to strengthen existing exporters and to increase the number of companies exporting includes three newly structuring axes:
- Collective action and animation regional chains
- Individual support to businesses
- Innovation and international
The regional strategy for economic development will be based, initially, on an overview of the economy Burgundy. This inventory once shared will set through working groups outline of policy for the years 2011 to 2014.
The aim will be to concentrate resources on the levers of economic growth in Burgundy, including the work already completed or in progress on other initiatives such as the structuring of a regional agreement for the development of vocational training (CPRDF) or Figure regional Air Climate Energy.
This should be based on a wide listening and consultation with all partners and economic players.
In a second step, will finalize a guidance document of economic policy document that will be the roadmap for this period, for a more industrial Burgundy, more innovative, attractive and more international.
Why not outline strategy and ...
The acronym SRDE comes this time in "regional strategy for economic development," rather than "pattern" because the economic and fiscal changes experienced still force to be more strategic.
Of course this strategy will be complemented by an action plan, as it was made for innovation and for export, adding new ways and means of supporting businesses and the economy in relation to Burgundy the different partners.
