The Regional Council is committed to meeting the challenge of energy and climate, taking into account social, economic and environmental. With its climate and energy plan for 2007-2013, it aims to provide a coherent framework for interventions to reverse trends and allow everyone to access information on issues and act in everyday life.

The energy and climate plan 2007-2013 is a document which sets the framework for intervention in the region of Burgundy for the control of energy expenditure and reduction of CO2 . It is part of the international efforts, EU and national matter.
Over a period of seven years, the climate and energy plan focuses on:
- The management of energy consumption by sobriety
- Development and diversification of new sources of energy for a real local economy of the resource
- The information, training, education and entertainment center plan
Schematically, the energy and climate plan 2007-2013 sets out a framework of interventions, the energy and climate program Burgundy (SBBC) is one of the tools for implementation of this plan and territorial climate plans that fall within the SBBC is an invitation to apply to the territories Burgundy volunteers.
