The Region and Transportation
With 1350 km of national roads, 650 km of motorways, 1000 km of canals and 2000 km of railways, Burgundy has a transport infrastructure extended and diversified. Its location at the crossroads of Europe, set it to less than 4 hours TGV major European markets.

Burgundy wants to leverage this location, particularly through the development of logistics and transportation, but also through the strengthening of metropolitan cooperation.
Because she has the will to cope with the increased mobility of people and goods within the framework of sustainable development, in Burgundy wishes to prioritize the development of alternative modes of transport to road.
e, Trains
The region has a particular interest in improving public transport, both to facilitate foreign trade of Burgundy as improve internal carts and regional cohesion.
Studies on the TGV Rhine-Rhone will be pursued and the measures to develop TGV Lille and Dijon-Yonne Mediterranean.
The development of regional transport through the improvement of existing services and by funding the acquisition of new motor, renovation of railway stations, the adaptation of infrastructure, creation of new rail services.
The Region aims to facilitate collaboration between the different transport authorities. It contributes to achieving the interchanges and the establishment of common tariffs for different networks.
IS, multimodal platforms
The region plays an important role in the development of logistics platforms offering multimodal transport. It finances including investments in platforms trimodal (road, rail, water) Chalon, Macon and Cote d'Pagny. The latter platform is equipped with 180 hectares of port area and a container terminal with a capacity of 20,000 crates. Its management was entrusted to the joint union management Pagny which is chaired by the Regional Chair.
Finally, the Burgundy region is associated with the draft platform bimodal (road / water) Gron, in the Yonne, near Sens, with a capacity of 5,000 containers, with the possibility of subsequent attachment to the iron.
e, Roads
The Regional Council action is exerted mainly through the Plan contract, participating in the development of the national road network. It particularly supports the development programs of the CEAR (Route Centre Europe Atlantique), the N7, deviations of agglomeration .... She now participates in the financing of motorway networks.
e Waterways
The Region is committed to the side of the 4 departments and Waterways of France to restore and develop the 1,000 km of canals on its territory.
we, the Civil Aviation
The Association participates in the operation of the airport of Dijon-Bourgogne and contributes to work to improve facilities for capacity and safety of commercial airports.
