Schools second chance
The Burgundy Regional Council helps finance the Second Chance Schools which aims to upgrade and fill the gaps of 18 to 25 years left school without a diploma or certification.
The device of the Second Chance Schools (E2C) is a continuation of the principles contained in the White Paper of the European Commission on education and training. In Burgundy, there are only two, the objective of the Regional Council is to fund, over time, one per department.
The E2C is a second chance for young adults (16-30 years) at risk of exclusion or who have acquired the knowledge nor the skills base needed to formulate and pass a personal and professional project.
Tool in the fight against exclusion from education, which complements the platforms supporting the classification established under the Public Service Regional Continuing Professional Education, the E2C promotes the recovery of the experience, skills recognition, orientation shortage occupations, mobility and access to employment.
The proposed course aims to E2C in social and professional integration through alternation.
An individualized educational approach
The teaching approach is individualized according to the training needs of the beneficiary and built around five themes:
- regain the momentum by working on personal self-knowledge
- reactivate the knowledge and desire to learn a wealth of general knowledge
- promote access to cultural and social practices including through workshops
- expand and test the horizon of professional opportunities by periods internships
- assist in making policy decisions and formation of a professional project by the multiplication of experiences and support in efforts to entry into training or professional life.
