The entire device research Burgundian mobilizes 4,000 people including 1,500 in the public sector. Research and technology transfer represent a budget of approximately 11,000 k € . The Region supports centers of excellence growlers to maintain and develop this scientific heritage, but also enhance the attractiveness of the regional economy.
The Regional Council contributes to the development and popularization of research. FABER - Home of new research teams
The Region has decided to encourage the installation of new research teams formed, but also the installation of new individual researchers, research managers, research fellows and professors from the Universities strengthen regional research. The Region participates in the onset of the activity of a new team, and restructure existing teams by providing support for an equipment contract, a contract of two-year study, a thesis allowance 3 years and a stipend of a postdoctoral year (depending on the status of the researcher allowed).

The Regional Council promotes the dissemination of research results by publishing journals, platelets and the organization of congresses, conferences, trade shows in Burgundy, and any use of new information technologies and communication.
Supporting Innovation
OSEO-Anvar and the Region have signed under the SRDE an agreement to promote innovation and encourage the industrial launch of the records of innovation. This Regional Innovation Fund (FRI) enables it to abound reimbursable advances or subsidies granted by OSEO Anvar and offering financial assistance in the form of repayable advances to support the industrial launch of the records of innovation (LII) . In addition, the Burgundy Regional Council helps fund PREMICE, and participates in the control of the structure which combines the functions of incubators and BICs, whose objective is to support the creation of new companies on a project basis innovative technologies.
