Region and Culture
Regional cultural policy was dictated by the improvement of access to culture, ensuring the rebalancing of the cultural and regional operations, with the following objectives: bringing the cultural offer of the Burgundians, bringing the Burgundians cultural production and expand the influence of cultural production.

Bridging the cultural offer of the Burgundians, with the means to act: - strengthening the role of institutions in structuring a population catchment area (irrigation planning);
- maintaining the artistic presence in the territories (reinforce the teams enabling them to consolidate their development through multi conventionnement);
- action on the pricing of activities and events (grants and subsidies can lower the price of inputs).
Bringing the Burgundians of cultural production, with the means to act: - cultural mediation: to encourage institutions and cultural actors to integrate this measure in their project. Establish a constructive relationship with people who are not a priori an audience and artistic production or know-how;
- arts education (visual education, high school practices, students in film, opera, literary prize for students ...);
- encouraging the practice and qualifying amateur by the association of professional artists.
Expand the reach of cultural production so that it contributes to the attractiveness of the region, increase cultural awareness of Burgundy, with the means to act: - support the dissemination of artistic works at the national or international (aid distribution);
- the association of cultural production to tourism development as well as wealth, which represents a factor of Burgundy notoriety (Events and festivals supported in Burgundy);
- enhancement of the image of Burgundy with entrepreneurs (living) with a cultural and educational institutions artistic quality.
I. CULTURE Burgundy reflects the diversity and richness through cultural creativity alive. The image, writing, creating music, theater and dance expression in many shows, exhibitions, festivals, performances, meetings, festivals, etc..

The Region supports the dissemination of culture throughout the territory, making available to the largest number of culture in all its forms, the most contemporary and most alive. Enhance regional cultural sites Cultural policy in the region also expressed in two sites which has the property:
- Castle of Chateauneuf-en-Auxois
- Center artistic meetings around the voice of Vézelay
Support the creation and dissemination, a fair offer on the territory Intending to support the full expression of art in Burgundy, from creation to distribution, and the networking of their players across the Burgundy region, the Region has implemented a set of devices together contribute to the artistic vitality and cultural, thereby subsidizing the Region:

II. HERITAGE Heritage, which comes alive through historical monuments, museums and open-air museums, houses with themes and scientific and technical culture, makes Burgundy a major cultural reference point in Europe.

The Burgundy region is one of the few to devote a special effort to the promotion of heritage unprotected. It is also to focus on matching the restoration of buildings with valuation policy with the public and a network of sites on topics attractive.

Identify, study, make known: Heritage Inventory The state, by the law of 13 August 2004, told the Region conducting operations inventory of cultural heritage. This is to identify, investigate and make known any work which by its artistic, historical, archaeological or ethnological, is part of the heritage.
Under the control of scientific and technical state, these operations comprise successively documentary research, survey, restitution and recovery.
In respect of the scientific method remains the basis of the inventory process, the region now included this step in a project focusing on the logic of territorial development.
