Cartes SIG

It is not uncommon to reduce to a simple GIS mapping tool assisted by computer. It is not! A GIS is a set of tools, human resources and working methods to make maps. It is a real tool for decision support including elected officials, planning and management of a territory.

How? By combining geographic data, it is possible to perform analysis in the form of maps.

GIS in many fields:

  • communities to manage their cadastral or their roads
  • Emergency Preparedness for emergency response planning
  • some private companies for their market research

Within the regional council, the main mission, originally, was the production of maps for all directorates and services. Today, the objectives are multiple:

  • Better understand and follow the Burgundy region
  • Perform analysis and diagnosis territorial implementation of territorial policies
  • Assessing Regional Policies

It is also an ideal tool for forecasting.

Now, some cards from this work are posted on this website.
