Safia OTOKORE, Vice-President for International Development, received Thursday, January 26, 2012 Regional Council, ten young South African welcome in Burgundy as part of an international exchange program volunteers Burgundy and South African issues around "Youth and Public Health", specifically the prevention and the fight against AIDS.
Safia OTOKORE, Vice President for Development at the International Cooperation and decentralized, hosted Thursday, October 6, 2011 Regional Council, 40 South African students in Burgundy this fall.
In order to strengthen international partnerships and the Regional Council to encourage the local dynamics of international cooperation, the Burgundy Regional Council has set up a support for projects that are part of its own decentralized cooperation .
The Burgundy region, Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany), Opolskie (Poland) and the Region of Central Bohemia (Czech Republic), finding common interests and strong bilateral ties that were forged various regions, decided to form a network by entering into a cooperation agreement quadripartite May 21, 2003 in Mainz.
Relations between Burgundy and the Czech Republic are old, since the first exchanges date from the early twentiethe century, with the reception of young Czechs at Lycee Carnot in Dijon.

Following the celebrations of the fifth anniversary of the quadripartite Convention, held in May 2008 in Opole, and exchange between elected officials and of Burgundy and Opole, the two regions have sought to develop their bilateral cooperation to promote direct contacts between their institutions and actors in their territories.
Burgundy and the Rhineland-Palatinate privileged relationship for nearly 50 years.
On May 30, 2009, a cooperation agreement was signed in Dijon by the Presidents of the Region of Burgundy and the Region of Maule, under the patronage and presence of Michelle Bachelet, President of the Republic of Chile.
An institutional partnership was established in September 2002 with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Regional Council of Burgundy and the Western Cape Province.
A cooperation agreement between the Regional Council of Burgundy and Małopolska was signed February 8, 1995. It is focused on cooperation in education between the two regions.
