LGV Rhin-Rhône
I warmly welcome the signing today at the Ministry of Transport, the Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation and financing of the second phase of the industry is the high speed line Rhin-Rhone.
This second phase is the construction of 50 km of high-speed line between Dijon and Mulhouse missing line commissioned on December 11.
This extension of the line in Burgundy and Alsace, as provided for starting the project will strengthen the TGV routes in Burgundy to Roissy, Lille, Basel, Zurich, Marseille and Montpellier.
This signature is the result of an unwavering commitment for 20 years, the three regions of Burgundy, Alsace and Franche-Comte to see succeed, in its entirety, the first high-speed connection province-province, the backbone of the railway Grand East.
The Rhine-Rhone has a full European dimension in which fundamental will be improved links between Germany and Switzerland on the one hand and the Mediterranean on the other. Thus, the realization of this second tranche final placement Dijon and Burgundy, through its TER, as a railway hub between northern, eastern and southern Europe.
This is great news for Burgundy and the development of its regional trade, national and international.

Chairman of the Regional Council of Burgundy
Senator of the Gold Coast
