The Burgundy Regional Council has adopted its 2007 Figure regional infrastructure and transport (SRIT). Taking into account the economic, environmental and territorial, the SRIT provides for the development of intermodal transport for both passengers and for freight.

The Regional Council is calling for expressions of interest "Innovative Practices in the sharing of vehicles" to encourage the development of car sharing in several towns in Burgundy. Car sharing is to permit the partculiers to rent cars in free service.
Francois Patriat, President of the Regional Council of Burgundy, gave the start of the regional central carpool, Monday, November 21, 2011, the company in Pomona Passion Cold Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur (Côte-d'Or).

The Regional Council of Burgundy and the SNCF in 2010 completed a major program of development and renovation of stations Burgundy. 119 stations have been upgraded, for a total of over 8 million.
