For quality agriculture preserved GM
Francois Patriat, Senator Côte-d'Or, president of the Regional Council of Burgundy just before the European Court of Justice to annul the European Commission decision of 28 July 2010 on the import authorization and Marketing of 6 varieties of GM maize.
This approach extends the hope presented by the group Europe Ecology / The Greens and voted by the majority of the Regional Assembly on Jan. 25. It supports the use of the Gers department in October 2010 filed with the Tribunal to annul the European Commission decision.
At a time when the Burgundy strives to promote quality agriculture, to promote and develop the AOC label and organic products, the regional authority has any legitimacy to undertake this action to preserve the regional agricultural production and especially the prestigious AOC Bresse chicken with the specification requires a GM-free food corn.
